garlic mashed potatoes

The perfect side for just about any meat, garlic mashed potatoes are lite on both effort and time. It’s a win win for both the chef and the guests.

Serves: 1 potato per guest ~ make as much as you like

Tools:

stock pot

chef’s knife

hand blender

Ingredients:

6 medium potatoes – washed, peeled and quartered

4-6 cloves garlic, smashed and finely diced

1/3 to 1/2 cup full cream milk, slightly warmed

2-4 TBSP butter

salt and pepper

For the potatoes:

Put all the potatoes in a stock pot and fill with water to just cover the potatoes. Boil over high heat until the potatoes are soft and can be pierced all the way through easily with a fork. Remove from heat. Drain excess water. Add garlic, salt and pepper and butter to taste. Add milk a little at a time while blending the potatoes with hand blender until the desired texture is received.

Serve hot with a little extra butter to melt on top for a drizzle of goodness.
